Pointless signs - meaningless, daft or just plain nonsense

You may think this sounds daft, but unless you are qualified to declare life extinct, your duty as a First Aider / Responder is to provide immediate aid. Without rules like the ones shown being made explicitly clear, there is a risk the responder will either ignore a casualty they assume to be dead or, by following protocols to the letter, render aid to a casualty who on the surface is blatantly no longer in a position to recover. Sounds daft, but there are stories (myths) of people working on an obvious corpse because they feared that if they didn't, they could be held accountable for "not trying".
