  1. Hey Guys,

I was wondering if anyone could help me with some advice. I am very keen to join the RNR as a diver.

I was a full time PADI instructor for 6 years (IDC Staff), a TDI Nitrox Instructor and a BSAC Advanced Diver and Assistant instructor. I have done approx 4,500 dives. I no longer teach diving for a living, but I do still dive regularly.

BUT I read somewhere that the maximum age to be a Navy Diver is 32. Is that also true for the RNR? I am 39. I know you can join the RNR until you are 40, but can you also be a diver?

Any information would be really appreciated.

  2. Hi,

Thanks a lot for that link, it was really helpful.

Yes, I got the brochure and letter through the post this morning, and as I live near Windsor, it said that my nearest training centre is HMS Wildfire, in Northwood.

    Thanks again,
