PHASE 2 PVR

Don’t get me wrong. I respect the forces and those that choose it as a job. But I am against effectively any psychological bullying tactics to get people to not leave during training.
It would seem to me that you, with no prior knowledge or experience of the armed forces or the processes involved , are forming an opinion based on anecdotes from a disgruntled former trainee.

Not having a dig, just an observation and as I've said before on here, my last 3 years in the RN was as a Phase 2 trainees Divisional Officer and showed a few the gate, some of them it was their choice, some of them it was the RN's choice.

I was legally obligated to interview all of them.

Watch the gate don't hit you in the arse on the way out.

If somone in the forces wanted to leave due to pay - do the forces accommodate that and pay more?

Because if we didn't pay our staff we wouldn't have a business!?!?
Tried to stay out of this but.............some questionable statements here???

The forces have a published rate of pay where everyone knows what the rates are, by advancing yourself inline with the system then your rewards are a known factor - does your company do this and if an employee threatens to leave unless you pay him/her more does everyone else get the same deal? If not you may well have some disgruntled, resentful employees on your books, no level playing field!!

Disgruntled resentful employees leaves you open to accidents, poor workplace practice and a bad rep with your clients.

What constitutes phycological bullying, trying to find out what the issues are is not bullying, and as many others have pointed out in this thread the RN has systems in place which are quite open for all to see, this protects the RN as an employer, the financial investment into training as well as the member involved.

You really ought to sit down and think seriously about what you are saying, the defence forces are not your ordinary everyday company and as such can't be compared with your husband's company, where he's the boss (or is he?) and that's it.

Got that off my chest, well some of it anyway!!!!

I've been watching this thread develop without posting.
What I can see is this:

On the one hand is a civilian employer, (or spouse of), whose experience, although lengthy, is limited to one side of the service/civilian divide.

On the other hand is a group of ex-matelots with extensive and lengthy experience both in and out of the Navy, who've seen both sides of the argument.

It's clear to me who has the more balanced view.

Hi does anyone know the process for PVR at phase 2 as I’m in Collingwood at the minute and want to leave after thinking for it for a long time. I’m 17 and 6 months old so I’m got another 6 months to decide until I can’t leave but I’ve made my decision now. Do I need to email my DO then put it on jpa or do I need to go see him?
It was sad to see you go. Good luck;)

^So he's gone now already and not even 18 yet?

Was he the one who scuttled back to his old job as that £200 per day Scaffolder or was that just some other Queens 'ard bargain taking his freebie PVR Ticket?

People leave for a variety of reasons many of which people on this thread will not know about so I suggest that some of the replies on this thread really put the service in disrepute as it is very rare to ever come across a PVR thats not been discussed and thought through with the individual. So the messdeck lawyers who think they know the ins and outs of someone elses life and are rude bast**ds and speak to people differently online than they would face to face need to back off and give the lad some proper advice.. Which many have.

Don't know if your aware. This isn't the official RN portal. It for ex and serving. Calling folk "rude Bast**ds" because they do not share your views is really going to endear yourself!
