Pay scale for ratings in the RFA

Discussion in 'RFA' started by Magikmonkey, Oct 24, 2013.

Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. I've been searching online for hours now and I've still not been able to find the pay scale for ratings in the RFA. I'm aware of the starting salary etc but nothing else.

I'm looking to join as seaman grade 2, am I right in thinking I've just missed a recruitment drive? I wouldn't be looking to join until autumn next year so maybe this is a good thing?

Any help or info that could be provided would be much appreciated!

    Many thanks :)

  3. That's great, managed to find the pay scale on a different thread.

Contacted the Royal Navy recruitment team on FB and they said that there were no RFA rating positions being recruited just now so fingers crossed for November :-/

  4. Welcome, MM

Are you only considering RFA roles?

  5. When I rang them they said they would be recruiting again in November so fingers crossed that it wasn't some guy just saying that

If I were you, I would give RFA Recruiting in Portsmouth a call on 02392 725923 to check when this particular job will next be recruited for.

  7. That's who I rang, No worry's not in a rush Just got my self on a maths and English course to get my Maths and English up for the test

  8. Hi Soleil, I have looked into the RN and joining as a seaman specialist however I think I'm better suited in the RFA. Pay seems to be better too along with long term qualifications and prospects etc etc

  9. Hi Magikmonkey, I cannot for the life of me find the thread with the pay scales you mention. Can you point me in the right direction please?
