Pay Bands

PAY 2000 was, in my opinion, a terrible mistake and still causes much controversy and angst to this day. Moving away from the All Of One Company ethos seems to forget that we are literally 'all in the same boat'.

Just tried googling for the different branches on which bands, but can't find it. Did find a 2001 Navy News article about it though:

We were never all of one company - the tif's were on a higher band through-out.

Hmmm pay bands. I think it works differently depending on what job you're doing.

I just qualified as a AB Submariner, so I'm now on 28k a year and got a £5000 golden hello upon passing my Submarine Qualification. I'm on about 16-17k 'basic' pay then I get the extra 5k from my Submariner pay which is about £450 extra a month. I also get £320 a month get you home pay for having a property which is roughly another £3000 a year (bearing in mind an average of 3 months sea time a year where you don't get the Get You Home Pay).
...which has nothing whatsoever to do with pay bands.
Skimmer?

Roger.
Pay bands are branch related you nugget. I was higher pay band for my branch, the submarine pay and nuclear pay I received were irrelevant to basic pay. What branch are you (as your newly qualified there's a picture of it on the arm of your 4's to assist you  ) then we can all know if your higher or lower.

Is this something which would feature in the AFPRB Reports?

I know that the most recent one contains a recommended Pay Spine for RN Clearance Divers, for instance.

Yes I know about pay bands. However I didn't want to spin a dit on them as I'm not really clued up about it and didn't want to give gash information.

I was just talking about my pay because I'm chuffed about it :)

All I know about pay bands is that different branches have different pay increments and such.

I know these are a little out of date but gives a rough idea of what pay is like.

I don't give a fish's tit what you do for a living sunshine. I only corrected your post because it was incorrect.

Gobby sprog.
