Passing out parades

Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Is it true that only the biological parents can attend the passing out parade of an officer? Not step parents or partners of parents?
  2. I very much doubt it.
  3. No that's not true, however; BRNC does limit the number of guests that cadets are allowed at Passing Out Parades, depending on the number of cadets passing out.
Both my parents and my Stepfather attended mine. But then so did my wife and kids, and both my in-laws. There was only 12 SUYs and 12 RFA cadets passing out that day though.
  4. Thanks for your reply So were they able to attend all of it or was there a more formal part that only 2 parents were allowed to attend?
  5. Only allowed to bring 2 guests into the chapel, you can have 8 (likely reducing to 6) in total, 4 of whom you can bring to the reception in the senior gun room after pass out parade.
  6. They used to limit the circumcision to close family only
