Passing out in 1911

Hi all.

A very good friend of ours passed out at HMS Raleigh yesterday. Cliches aside, it seems to have made him into a new man. He said he wished he'd done it 10 years ago!

Which got me thinking... my grandfather joined at Chatham in 1911... would there have been a similar ceremony back then?

Would it have been at Pembroke... would there have been an official photographer?

Photographs of passing out and other groups at Pembroke pre WW1 were contracted to Medway Studios, 35 High Street Chatham.
There were no official RN photographers until 1918 and then few and far between
