Just a little thanks to all you lot who have answered my sometimes stupid questions and given me a giggle through the young fellas process of having a life in a blue suit , so before we hit the pub have a good Christmas and a peaceful new year

A little update for any parents of future recruits as he’s now near the end of week3 , after a week at home he was hopping to get back to training, had a very happy phone call last night as he’d just got back from piers cellars and had loved his 2 days in the water and map reading, his class has lost a few down to Covid and one injury . It seems he’s fully embracing life in a blue suit and is a happy little snot box , has his first proper kit muster including greens this Monday coming so it will be a busy weekend for them all .wife is a bit down as today’s his birthday and it’s the first one he’s not been home for but how happy he was last night has made up for it

Good to hear. My boy has had no new date as yet. Come April it will be 2 years that he put his application in.

Hopefully he’ll get a date soon , the Covid has messed around with a lot of things not just people’s health , its like my lad said he lost 18months of schooling and socialising at school so he doesn’t feel 17 , from what I can work out everyone who’s testing positive down there is being put into med bay and held over until they are clear and fit enough to continue , the way it seems it’s a bit of a lottery if you manage to get your int training done in the 10 weeks simply because of Covid, they have another test today so it’s possible anyone of them could be held back

It seemed a bit of an over reaction when my boy tested positive, I think he was on day 8 when he should have gone to Raleigh. Got to man up and carry on. Anyway he's home from work for a week or so now and we are going through intense driving practice ready for his test early in February.

The ones who tested positive over Christmas I don’t know what’s happening with them as obviously they couldn’t travel back , I understand what they are saying with your lad as everyone is confined in close quarters it could possibly destroy a few classes ,also there was a lass who started with my young fella who’d just got over it but had to be held back as here body couldn’t take the constant phys , he was on the prnc with her and said she flew through the phys there and was one of the strongest in the group , it must be hard for him as I can see it from both sides

Not much to report the end of this week as they are in isolation as there’s been a few cases , training has been swapped around for those who are negative, my lad is still upbeat with the attitude it is what it is and they just need to wipe theirs mouths and crack on , some parents don’t believe enough is being done for their little princes but from what I’ve read those parents are just [email protected] Wombles , as staff have called us and explained everything and they are doing the best they can for the recruits
As they were allowed care packages this week but no sweets , we sent down his favourite sweets with a little note to his PO asking him to eat them in front of my lad , it seemed to have desired effect of making everyone giggle

They are also looking for a new Bond, Commander Bond although surely his name will be different, maybe my names son, Civvie dads son.

@MotivatingMum - my youngest passed recruitment test Feb 2016. He was originally wanting to go in the RM but after many months deliberating he decided against it. This slowed the process down but by September he had decided to go for WS. Triage call from nurse was in October and he had his medical in Jan. TMU for High BP but we knew it was nerves. 24 hr BP tape booked in March and results sent off to Capita. They passed him fit about 3-4 weeks later and he passed the PJFT this month.
My eldest passed his recruitment test in Sept 2016 and is going in as CIS. He had his medical which he passed in March. I think we hit the time when Capita were really slow. Within a few days of passing medical he had his fitness test and given an entry date about a week later. So similar stages for both of them. Hope this info helps.
