Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Does anybody know what the most oversubscribed Officer position in the Navy is?
  2. ???Missionary???
  3. I have it on good authority from Norman that it is LtCdr. :p
  4. Chair Tester?
  5. Stores...er Logistician? Warfare? Ask at an AFCO.
  6. OK I`ll bite, has to be Admiral, as in how many per ship.

From an applicants perspective, there are more people wishing to be pilots than any other specialisation, however the selection process whittles it down significantly.

It just seems like there are far too many pilots serving - in actual fact, it just sounds like there are.

The job with the most people passing AIB but not getting selected is probably Logistics officer I'd guess, as there fewer of them, you can join with a non-vocational degree (Unlike Engineers, Medical & Padres) & the acceptable eyesight standard is lower than Warfare.

I'll refrain from making a smutty & witty aside about the best Officer position overall.
  9. Thankyou
  10. So for the rest of us Ninja old mate, can we have the smutty positions please? :p

However, it's entirely possible that we refer to a different type of stool being placed nearest (or in) the port bottle.[IMG]

It's taken me 28 years to call them stools - I'm improving, trust me.
  15. Remind me to never let you buy me a drink....
  16. I always thought that was the most "claimed to be" on a run ashore???
  17. At least Ninja hasn't started on 'flanges' yet....
  18. The RM officer positions seem pretty oversubscribed.
