    Applications are invited for the position of Operations Manager for our ITP operation
    at Gatwick.

    This is a site that operates on behalf of our customer, and the Operations Manager
    will report to the Regional Manager.

    The Manager will have full responsibility for the safety and operational performance
    of the station. You will be expected to lead a staff of approximately 30 employees to
    ensure that our business objectives are achieved. You will also be expected to deliver
    excellent working relationships with all key stakeholders, the airport authority and all
    suppliers. This role will work as a team with other site Operations Managers, and
    contribute to the wider management team in delivery of our business plans.
    The successful applicant will have strong supervisory and people management skills
    gained in an operational environment over a period of 5 years or equivalent. In
    addition good financial control in delivering agreed budgets is required. The role
    requires flexibility in terms of working hours and does not qualify for overtime
    payments. Preferably you will hold an LGV2 licence and hold or be able to obtain an
    airside pass.

    Key competencies for this role are; Operational Decision Making, Customer
    Orientation, Communicating with Impact.

  2. You would have had me interested were it not for the hideously low salary that is way below the average for similar jobs in better parts of the country.

    I was recently offered one for £48k and have also just looked up some comparable jobs which pay in the region of £55k pa.

    I should add that the salary is from £35k and anyone with good experience would be likely to be able to negotiate much higher.
