The heart of the site is the forum area, including:
Do officers in the royal marines lead from the front
No mate, they all sit in Blighty eating smoked kippers.
Officers only appear for ceremonials and golf events cocktail parties with the locals show the flag etc, they never go into battle.
Hence the reason a officer has to be beat a normal booties time at Lympstone by at leat ten minutes. The waiting list for this soft number is tremendous!!
Ask the Earl of Wessex
Ok, I'll be nice Phil...
Welcome to Rum Ration & YES, very much so, hence the fact they do everything that Other Rank Commandos do & a whole lot more. That's why they are held in high regard.
Remember who told you the truth!
Royal Marine officers are always the first to get the round in. (After they've had their kippers)
Yep, they NEVER get the kippers in, I've noticed.
They do lead from the front, they just need to be told which way to go by their Troop Sergeants.
The most dangerous thing you will ever encounter is a officer with a map!!
To be fair, maps can be difficult to fold at the best of times, even more so when used for wrapping your kippers.
No, really, it's a matelot with a gun....
A Boot Neck firing blanks from a SLR 2 foot away from you is f***ing dangerous. it goes through No`s 8 shirts and leaves burns a foot in dia.
