Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Hi all.

I have been for several meetings at my AFCO about joing as either an Aircrew officer or Warfare officer. I have also been on two aquaintance visits to HMS Excellent and HMS Heron.

I have not met with my ACLO for a while but have been sent an AFCO Form 4 and would like to find out more about the process that follows my application.

  2. I think where you've fcuked up here is in asking rumration, rather than asking at your AFCO.
  3. Once the AFCO receive your application form back they will call you in for the RT test (Written test), You will then be medicalled and sent for a Fitness test. After that you will then be passed over to your officer selector who will interview you. If you do go for Aircrew you will then be sent for your flying aptitude. If all this goes well then they will talk to you about entry to BRNC Dartmouth.

  4. does aclo send you on FATs or you have to apply for them yourself?
  5. Once you tell them what Job you want to go for they will book your FAT.
