  1. Hi,

What is the legal distinction of an Off-duty policeman? Is it any different than an off-duty accountant or indeed an off-duty McBurger flinger?

I am aware that a matelot on leave is still subject to QRRN and the NDA, but is there a police equivelent.

The medai will always make more of an off-duty police officer performing an act of bravery than any one else, although a service man/woman will get a good look in.

    So, any useful comments?

  2. I think you will find that off duty they still hold a warrant card, so are therefore still bound/able to act if a crime is being/has been committed.

Happy to be corrected by those that know a definitive answer.
