OCFR Pay Scale

Mac557

Newbie
Hi all,

As a potential CW candidate I'm looking for some guidance. Normally I'd fire an email over to the RA, but I'm unable to do that at the moment.

Would any expert writers on here happen to know what the script is with the OCFR 15 band pay scale, specifically whether it applies to UY candidates as well as SUY candidates?

And if it does, does the pay increase occur from day 1 BRNC or on graduation?

Apologies if I should have seen this when reading through the BR.

Only SUYs move onto the OCFR Pay Scale.

From JSP 754 Chapter 4, Section 3;

Separate OCFR Pay Spine

04.0307. On commissioning, all other OCFRs (Senior Upper Yardmen (SUY(RN)), Senior Corps Commission (SCC(RM), Naval Careers Service Officers, Late Entry (LE)(Army), Commissioned Warrant Officer (CWO(RAF), Regular RAF Officers in the Medical Technician Branch and Director of Music), will be paid from a separate OCFR pay range which comprises 15 increments containing enhanced rates of pay.

For UYs;

Pay on Commissioning – Regulars (see para 04.0317 for Reserves)

04.0306. On commissioning*, OCFRs (except those detailed in para 04.0307) will transition to the main officers’ pay spine and will be allocated to an increment on the OF1 range based on their:

a. Officer rank and seniority or, if more favourable;

b. Basic pay in issue on the day prior to commissioning plus a 5% promotion increase; with assimilation to the appropriate increment on a range at the nearest pay increment equal to or above the amount so determined. Officers will remain at this point as a SSRP, where necessary, until their seniority catches up, whereupon normal incremental progression will commence. If the 5% increase results in a pay level above the rank level in the OF1 range, the resulting amount will form a SDRP. An officer will then remain on this SDRP (subject to the normal annual pay uplift), until such time as they are promoted.

*For RN this will be on date of entry to BRNC. For RM this will be on date of entry to CTCRM.
