Now the former TURBULENT CO adds his advice on surviving lockdown.

A little late to the party but now Commander Ramsey surfaces with a healthy dose of when-eye-wuzz-a- etc etc .

<<...Ryan Ramsey knows what it's like to self-isolate...as the captain of the nuclear submarine HMS Turbulent between 2008 and 2011 he once spent 286 days at sea without seeing the sky. (Ermm...??)

The Gosport-based consultant says conflict management is key to surviving time in confined spaces and has five top tips to help see you through.

BTW = WOW - Hard Copy at £43.60 but only £3.95 for the Kindle version his SSN14 book is worth a read:

BLURB
= <<...SSN 14 is a dramatic and honest account of a year in the life of HMS Turbulent, the Royal Navy nuclear powered attack submarine led by Ryan Ramsey.

During 2011 Turbulent participated in the Libya intervention and passed through the Suez Canal to take up patrol in the Indian Ocean against the extraordinary political backdrop of the Arab Spring, in the period where both Colonel Gaddafi and Osama Bin Laden were killed and piracy and terrorism was rife.

Turbulent suffered a catastrophic failure of its cooling systems. The fight to survive tested Ryans command to its limits. Although the suffering was immense, the entire crew survived intact.

Ryan also had to deal with constantly changing crew and transform them into a tight-knit, smoothly functioning team that could meet, and exceed, any challenge thrown at them. This books documents his failures, as well as his successes and offers a unique insight into leadership in the most challenging of environments.

No matter where your business battles are fought, this will help you be phenomenal at what you do...>>DETAILS =

Did a few years on Turbs. Perhaps I should chuck a book together?

(An extract).

To alleviate boredom during lock down and to help keep in control of our areas recyclable rubbish, I now dispose of the entire streets waste cardboard.
I collect it daily, lock myself in the toilet and rip it into 10x15cm bits before soaking it in the crapper for 24 hours. The bog is then lined up to ditch gash and it all gets blown down the pan. An excellent way to pass the time using gash ditching skills obtained as a submariner and, so far, there are only three manhole covers in my area that are oozing human excrement and stinking lumps of soggy cardboard onto the road.
Just doing my bit.

Two questions BNM

1) when were you on Turbs, I was on her '85 - '87
2) Have you got a can crusher/compacter in your garage?
