No 1 Ceremonial Dress - recommended tailors?

Discussion in 'The Quarterdeck' started by Astraeus, Nov 8, 2015.

Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Evening all. I am required to visit a tailor to be measured for and provided with my No 1s. Can anyone recommend a good one? Anything north of Warford Gap would be most welcome.

    Many thanks.

I get issued a new number one suit every couple of years and live 200 miles North of the Waford Gap.

The tailor I use? The bloke in HMS Nelson.
  3. I have been recommended to Turner Virr in Fareham. What price are the uniforms from HMS Nelson?

  6. Thread drift......Can anyone recommend a place that does medal repairs/cleaning, preferably Portsmouth area? I have been sorting through the spare room and found my Dad's WW2 medals that could do with bringing back to life!

Not in Portsmouth, but very good, cheap & fast postal service:

  8. Turner Virr are the ones used by Nelson. I went there (rather than Nelson) when I need a new suit at Wittering. I agreed this with Nelson (The base not the man) though, didnt just turn up.
