The Defence Science and Technology Laboratory’s (Dstl) Dismounted Soldier System Engine Room contract will support and enable the dismounted soldier of the future.

In March 2016 Dstl held an industry day for suppliers to find out more about the Dismounted Soldier System Engine Room contract. The industry day was attended by around 130 suppliers and provided potential suppliers with information on procurement timelines and details of specific research areas the contract would cover.

Following the industry day Dstl will set out the scope of requirement for the contract, with a prequalification questionnaire for suppliers and the invitation to tender expected to be issued in Summer 2016.

Ross Jones, Programme Manager for Close Combat Systems, Dstl says:

The Dismounted Soldier Systems Engine Room industry day allowed a huge breadth of industry suppliers and representatives from academia to come together in support of dismounted soldier research. Over the coming months we will be setting out the requirements for the contract and look forward to receiving proposals later this year.
