New water bus service for Explosion! museum

Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Portsmouth News: New water bus service to help link Portsmouth and Gosport museums. This waterbus link was originally promised in time for the museum's opening in 2001 so it is long overdue.

If you haven't yet seen the award-winning Explosion! Museum of Naval Firepower in Gosport, a visit is thoroughly recommended. It contains examples of just about every type of weapon and ammunition ever used by the RN including guns, small arms, torpedoes (including a German 'Marder' one-man submersible 'human torpedo'), ASW mortars, depth charges, bombs, missiles and mines. In my view, the Mining Hall is a particularly attractive feature. :)
