The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Hi.
I remember picking up speech from New Walthaml transmitter on short wave in the forties, some of the language was quite spicy!!

    Ken. Now 82 years young!
  2. Remember having a few pints in the Harvest Moon pub in New Waltham, was a good trapping place.
  3. The harvest moon is still there and going strong too......

Handler/Van, are either of you two chaps from Grimsby? I met my wife in The Cross Keys, just over the road from The Harvey Moon.
  5. Hi.
I must confess to being a Grimbarian, I lived over the Marsh in Chapman Street, bordering on the deal yards and docks. Had a few near misses during the air raids, not forgetting the Butterfly Bombs. Did national service in the Royal Artillery and then joined the RAF.

Always pleased to meet a towny, but I must confess Canberra man that I didn't understand your original post and suspect I may not be alone!

Should have added: I've lived in Guzz for over twenty years now, but born and raised in Grimsby, lived on Garner Street, near Welholme Road. Going back to see the family next week as it happens.
