Hi , i am in the early stages of applying for the role of Seaman specialist in the Royal Navy (interview in 9 days ! ) Has anybody had their interview over the phone yet ? Any help, advise or support gratefully received.

I can’t comment for other AFCO’s, the long haired Admiral is in the Careers Service. From listening to her doing her telephone interviews, I have some tips.

Read the letter that accompanied your invite on the candidate portal. This is what you will be asked!

Know about your role from the RN website, where you will do your training (Phase 1/2)? How long it will take, what ships do the RN have (broad brush)?

Know your 2.4km times. Know your 5km times. What phys are you doing?

Finally, DO NOT WAFFLE. if you don’t know the answer, say you don’t! I think... and I am sure it is.. aren’t an answer.

Be honest!
