Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. The Wildcat looks badass. The Merlin Mk2 looks exactly like a Merlin Mk1 so not sure who exactly declared "How new and exciting the pair look together on the Flight line."
  2. Because it's actually flying; that's new and exciting for the Merlin?
  3. Perhaps the fact that they were out on the flight line on a monday and tuesday rather than stowed in the hangar whilst 824 have another long, long weekend was new and exciting.

  4. I have always found the Merlin, EH-101 quite odd in that when I was seconded to Westlands on a sales project for the Lynx. The sign on the Merlin Hanger stated Merlin EHI-01 or European Helicopter Industries 01. It was a blending of Westlands, Airospatial and Agusta. Then our media got involved and the EH-101 emerged and has been with us ever since.

    Back to sleep now!!!
