Comment on the Scottish Executive's latest idea. A second crossing of the River Forth, Edinburgh end.

    Daily Telegraph - Alan Cochrane

There is no question that a second crossing is required. What is alarming is that it seems as if engineers will not be left to their own devices but will be have to put up with interference from politicians and Civil Servants. Yes it's public money and there needs to be some oversight but as the commentator here says,

  2. Where's the other end? or is it a cave and not in fact a tunnel?
  3. I think the construction and cost of any such project should be left until Scotlands decides its future within the Union.

It will be if amateurs get involved in a tunnel construction. Look at the arrse they made of the Scottish Parliament project. Ten times the projected cost and then the roof started coming down.

If Scotland goes solo, I don't imagine the remainder of the Union will contribute. It may be a ploy and a 'fair' one to steer Scottish voters away from the Nats.
