On a slightly more serious note, how about a nice robust watch, like a G-shock type thing? :)

Hiya Aidy, welcome to RR.

You'll get loads of suggestions, some may even be useful!

How's about some nice socks to go with his sandals?

Floor polish is always a popular item with medics, it never gets worn away either as no-one may tread on it.

How about PSP, Ipod NANO? Always useful to fill in those few moments when you've managed to get some time to yourself.

Decent watch, G-Shock, Seiko Military (all on E-bay for well under £100)

Nope - WTF floor polish? Sock sandals?
Go on Aidy, you're obviously used to forums,

Since you have a UK IP Address, why the need to translate £100 into $200 shipmate ? Are you about to leave our shores?

What like when you're just out of the Shatt Al-Arab?

Friend of a person is going and wanted advice, so I thought go to the boys who know.

I also said stethoscope before I read it here, as i presumed the ones you get free are poor. :)

good luck ship mates :)

A nice soft sock, with AIDY sewn on it in red chain stitch by your hand. He'll really appreciate such a present during those long lonely nights in an all male messdeck and you can be sure he bound to use it every day, unlike, say, Fiesta, which will disappear from under his mattress before you can say "Pipe the hands!'

Welcome on board Aidy. The Rum Tub has just be filled to the brim to celebrate Jenny Dabber's newby son: Joseph, so we're having a Joseph Party. You're welcome to join in. :)

Chiefy! Splice the Mainbrace!
