I'm looking for a new mobile phone. Probably on contract £20ish a month. I don't really use it alot, just the bog standard "where the f*ck are you" or "get you in the pub at 7". Two most important features are being able to receive emails and MUST have a really good battery life. I don't want to be charging it every day.

    Any recommends?
  2. Get a second hand blackberry curve, mine was mint. When my Iphone contract runs out I'm going back.
  3. LOL Binatone!!! electronics that smell of piss.
  4. By the time that happens Blackberry wont be in existence, much like Harry Redknapp's tea cloth.

    Whats happening with Blackberry?

    I spotted a curve 9300 for £20 a month on Orange.

iPhone 3GS 8GB, reviews say the battery life is crap. Any owners?
  7. Had one briefly before Iphone 4, battery life was indeed pump.

Edited to add, Iphone 4 is better but only if you constantly manually end the apps that are running, pain in the arse.
  8. If you are just using it for calls, texts and emails, pretty much anything on the market these days will do the job.

Having said that, get an iPhone. No matter how much of a techno biff you think you are, within 10 minutes you'll wonder how the **** you ever survived without one. Battery life isn't that bad providing you don't download tons of shit apps. I charge mine every other night. Once you get your head around the fact that it's more like a mini laptop than a phone, you'll learn to accept the gash battery life.
  9. I like facetiming myself having a shite or in the shower to people. Sadly no wifi in my block but it's al systems go at home. This is the best thing about iphones.

Had my HTC Desire HD for 16 months now, best phone I've ever had. Runs Android, still never paid for an App, battery life is ok (can get two days of normal use - which is very good for a smart phone) - its made from a solid block of aluminium so is very robust and my deal (with Orange) was £17 for unlimited texts, 500Mb and 800mins.

I'll probably either keep this or get another HTC come October.

As with all these things its a personal choice, you will get people who like iPhones, Androids (HTC, Samsung, Google) or Blackberries even a few with new Nokias. Worth cutting it down to a few and then wasting an hour or so in a decent phone shop.
  11. Come to think of it, the battery life is actually awesome, given the fact that I watch around 50 minutes of HD porn a day on it, make calls, listen to tunes, play games, take pics and surf the Internet, it is a fuckload more capable than a laptop.

If I used my old Sony Ericsson as much as I use my iPhone, the battery would pack up within a few hours.

iPhone, it's the ultimate porn machine. You haven't lived until you've watched hardcore HD grot while having a shit. It's how I start my day.

  12. I would also like to add that the Tea Round app is magnificent. An app that decides who makes the tea. I ******* love it.

Concur with previous comments; reduced battery life is a consequence of most smart phones available on the market (which can be increased by disabling some of the unnecessary apps/features that you might not need on a daily basis). Whatever phone you decide to buy, can I recommend this handsfree kit?

  15. Sony Erricsson Smart phone (Xperia) battery lasts abut 2 days ... Got told by the wench when I upgraded that 2 days is about it for any smart phone! Prefer Android phones ... apps are free and cover much the same as iPhones. ... although I do like the iPhone 4 ad where it has voice activated apps ... kinnnnnkkkkkky! ... but now "she who must be obeyed" fancies an iPad ... may need to change to iPhones!

Anyone got a Andriod "tablet" rather than the iPad????

Problem........ Wits is a Weegie. There is a well known language barrier with the iphone Siri app.:-D
  17. The combined armed forces must have the greatest number of Iphone users that can't get Siri to work. :p
