Navy waiting times

Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Hi, I have a huge dilemma, I want to join the full time Royal Navy, but will have to wait around 12-18 months (depending on what job). I also finish my A-Levels in June. So I don't know whether to:

-Go University, then join Navy afterwards as a officer (depending I actually pass the AIB).

-Not go Uni and wait for 12-18 months doing a boring job whilst I wait

-Go Uni, join reserves and then do a Full Time Reserve Service (short term full-time contracts) after Uni.

    Any advice will be appreciated.

  2. Why not become an RM officer, the waiting times are far shorter?
