Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

but .. why does the Navy News call TERRORISTS 'insurgents'?

  3. Good drills and skills from all involved, including the Crabs flying through a '...hail of steel...'. Navy News journos must use Commando comics as their style manual.:slow:

  4. Hail of steel / bristling with guns are top Asst_Ed-isms. :D

As for insurgents - that's also the word used by TF Helmand / MoD. It's used interchangeably with Taliban (although we've typically spelled it Taleban - either one's ok). I reserve "terrorist" more for 9/11 or 7/7 bombers.

  5. Nice one Lads. Well done.
