Mystery Ship.

  1. After the interest in naming Ians_Lads grandads mystery ship,I thought I would throw one in myself.

    I found the photo below in my late Dads collection, I know her name and the port where it was taken,so for a bit of fun can anyone name both.

    Only clues are she is not British and the photo was taken from the P&O R.M.S.Oronsay sometime in the mid to late thirties.

  7. Not a bad guess - I reckon she's Brit built though: Turkish/Greek?

    I reckon FS Courbet when she was nav training/gunnery vessel, so Toulon.

  12. Assuming the photo's not on the web I'll go for the French Bretagne class battleship Provence in Toulon.

  14. At 16.52 Naval_Gazer gets it spot on. Paris at anchor in Toulon,WELL DONE THAT MAN!!!!!

  16. Bugger just found it.

    So many pictures, pre/post refit, different hight funnels fitted to class, different masts.
