Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Hi, serious question, has anybody done an internal transfer from RN to the MPGS? Am thinking of doing it myself but don't know what the implications are regarding immediate pension and lump sum?
Have been told I would need to have a 30 day break between leaving and rejoining to keep it, but I was hoping that it would top up the wages the MPGs pay if I threw transferred?

  2. You do not need the 30 day break these days as you will be joining a different scheme - your AFPs 75 IP lump sum is safe. You will go in at the rank of Private so you pension will be reduced (abated) so that your new pay plus pension does not exceed your old rate of pay.
