What footwear do you wear in the RN? Boots or shoes?

does hms raleigh have SECURE parking facilities

is there a home break between raleigh and specialist training?
I find it difficult to believe that anyone took this question seriously. For example flip flops are quite appropriate when having a shower, but was the matter looked into? Ho hum.

Parking facilities? I ask you. Just to point out something that may have been overlooked, Raleigh (as far as I remember) is a training camp and not a NCP site.

As for breaks between training sessions, ................ well, does standeasy count?

Yes, I know I'm being flipant, but for goodness sakes. What ever happened to the answer 'sort your life out and get on with it'? Talk about molly coddled.

I bet I'm in for shit tomorrow.

On a day to day bases you wear boots at Raleigh, but when u get into your 3's you'll wear shoes, you'll wear your boots for Drill training, but when it comes to division you'll wear shoes. When you go to church on a sunday, its shoes. But towards the end of the 8 weeks your boots get ruined from assault course, obstacle course you get to wear your shoes. But depending on what base your going to for phase 2 traing, depends on what footwear, Sultan is Boots, whilst Collingwood (where i am for 3 more weeks) is shoes. And for P.T you get issued some world class Hi-tecs Silver Shadows.

If your a new trainee then your not aloud your car in base, if not then it's well guarded with all the sentrys and fence.

When you pass out you get a weekend home before moving on to wherever your going, but once at your phase 2 base you get the choice to go home most weekends, depending if your on duty that is. But at raleigh the day before you pass out, you get the chance to spend a evenin with your family before returing to base.

Hope this is helpful, All the Best

Here's a question for ROFLMAN - Why aren't you asking these sort of questions to your recruiting office / Liaison Officer? They are the people who have all the relevent up-to date answers.

Yeah those white ones you had to scrub clean after dragging them through all the mud!!!!

As worn by Roger Bannister....none of this Nike Air nonsense!

Give me plimsoles any day! Trainers - too flashy, too comfy, too modern and you cannot put them in the washing machine in an emergency!
