Mobilisation

Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Does anyone out there know what the maximum age is before someone is unable to be mobilised and is it written down anywhere, and if so where.

  2. That implies that there IS a maximum age?

  3. Sorry shippers, should have said " IS" there a maximum age etc!!

  4. There isn't a maximum age; when I was mobilised one of our lot was in his fifties, and reminded of it constantly! :p

He gave as good as he got though, I'll give him that! :)

  5. If your an existing RNR member...pass a medical...pass a RNFT...mobilise!
Is your trigger finger finger suffering from arthritis..?

  6. I was mobilised at 53. I had heard rumours that 55 was the cut-off but there is an RNR out here who is 59.

To MOD: Please delete this if you think it breaks PERSEC

  7. Crikey, I thought it was "on your bike" for officers at 55 and ratings at 45 - how the hell did a 59 year old slip through the net?

  8. There are quite a lot of people out there who've had extensions of service past the usual cutoffs - I think you can go up to 60 but it's reliant on ComMarRes approval & presumably on skills/knowledge that are in short supply elsewhere.

  9. With regard to one person who shall remain nameless, I wish they did... I wish they did!!

  10. Bugger...And I did Raleigh recruit course at 45..!
