Mo

I know telly's a bit low-brow for this cultural site, but did anyone see 'Mo' this evening?

I thought it was outstanding television - a sensitive and intelligent reflection on one of the greatest British politicians of recent years (in my opinion).

Hasten to add, this isn't an emotive comment due to the nature of the programme, I honestly consider her up there with the likes of John Smith.

I spoke to Mo Mowlem a number of times whilst she waited for her Special branch car and she was a very nice woman who seemingly had time for everyone.

Sadly missed

No one criticises dead politicians, and dramas about them (especially if they had something to make them more human, like cancer) are almost sycophantic.

I didn't watch Mo, and didn't think much of her politics either.
