Mirror: "The men and women who save our troops"

Interesting article as there is no news from Iraq these days. I didn't know it was all going pear shaped in Basra (although not really surprising). The 'stan has certainly shifted the media spotlight

It wasn't exactly going well when we left, we had to buy the few days of peace and quiet to extract the bulk of our kit as it is. I must say I didn't realise we were still so involved with boots on the ground, I was under the obviously incorrect impression that our presence was more in a support and training role.

The mention of combat injuries and armoured vehicles suprises me, it seems a shame the shift in media glare has left this theatre almost forgotten.
