  2. Odd that this is in the news just as I find out that I've got long-standing pleural thickening. And served in the 70s.
  3. I,m not surprised. I have been searching for a Fearnaught helmet, the type used by Handler,s for Aircraft Crash Rescue ashore and afloat for over 12 years. Once Pusser found out that they might be the cause of asbestosis and other assorted lung diseases, they disappeared over night.
    Like TaffD, many of our members have the same disease or have died from Asbestosis, along with Australian Handler,s who used the same piece of kit.
    Btw, all these helmets disappeared well before 1987.
  4. The Fearnaught Suit/helmet was commonly used on all RN/RFA ships by firefighting parties for many years.
