Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. does the Royal marines accept commonwealth citizen who have serve in the armed force of his country( I serve almost two years in the canadian army reserve)?

  2. Hi Canuck,

    In short, yes. Several Canadians have or are serving in the Royal Marines. There are certain procedures that one must go through for Commonwealth citizens to serve in the British Armed Forces.

    I would point you to;

    You should be able to get the answers to your questions on that site.

  3. thanks Andy

  4. Have you considered becoming an Aussie Commando? Better Weather and lifestyle, expanding organisation, get to become a dual citizen....... Only downside part of the army as Australia does not have marines.

    Can I turn the question round? I'm currently in the RNR as a CPO(CIS) and will be moving to Canada in the next 6 months. Is there a way I could transfer across to the Canuck Reserves?

  6. I don't know if you could transfer to the Canadian reserve forces, but you can join them. At the moment they are trying to recruit more people into the reserve.
