Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. At last Sir Ian Blair, once the Golden copper of new labour, who displayed all the attributes of new labour, its not my or my appointees fault, has resigned as from 01.12.2008. Good riddance, now some one has to put the Met back together let us hope the Association of Black Police Officers do not have much divisive input in the matter.

Yes he was my immediate Line Manager for 12 months.

  2. Ah, the last Blair in high office. Perhaps his permenanent replacement will rejoice in the surname BROWN? ;)

Talking of Cyclops, I wonder if Broon will get his oar in to the fallout. Probably 'yes' if there is screen time involved.

The Met (like all police forces) needs to be commanded not managed.

Boris Johnson, I'm loving your work.

How do you pronounce that? ^~

  4. Ooops! :thanks:

  5. I think the dictionary gives that as "FÔur_ã-looong_thŷme" but my specialist field is earth worms not grammer!

  6. You are no longer allowed to command as the Police are no longer a FORCE but a SERVICE.

  7. I know nowt about policing but this guy got away with murder[not the tube thing]he acted like he was God and the local police I know despised him for his arrogance[some transferred from the Met].
The fact he placed police cars with a Labour slogan was, itself a dismissal issue.
Lets have some old fashioned policing and stop this PC crap.

  8. Who is this PC Crap? I must have missed the latest news! Is he the new Police Commissioner or has a Personal Computer been put in charge of the Met? o_O ;)

  9. Nutty. I think in just one sentence, you have summed up much of the problem.

  10.
  11. Ah but what of the Armed Services/Forces? :bball:

Does that mean that whilst you are members of the armed forces, officers can command but as members of the armed services officers can only commend? ;)

  12. Well it has taken a while but we got there eventually and IMO we are well rid of him.

  13. Just remember that he was put in his position by your beloved labour leadership. :pukel:

  14. I think I have made this clear in the past, T. Blair is not on my Crimbo card list.

  15. It's the crap where burglars get a caution and householders who catch them end up in cells.
Copper gave me a tip,if you catch a burglar with any weapon make sure you scratch your face/arm/leg whatever, then you cannot be charged or held as it's self defence with reasonable force.
    Sound good to me.

  16. Sir Norman Bettison, Chief Constable of West Midlands was put up as a favorite to replace Blair. It has been reported in the Telegraph that he has rejected this idea but he is a quoted from that report. I have highlighted the word that shows which way we are going.

"The determination to make the police service more accountable to elected representatives. What that means is bringing the police service under greater political control."

If one of our most highly thought of Police Officers now sees it as a Service what hope is there for Plod on the Street?

    Nutty

  17. I cant wait until they actual start providing a service.
The police in our area are as rare as rocking horse droppings.
