Mental Health Nurse

My nephew is thinking about joining as a Mental Health Nurse. I’ve searched through this site and the majority is quite dated hence my post.
The RN website gives good info on training post basic but I’ve a couple of things to clarify.

First question is do the MHN’s go through the same recruitment process as in the 4 day acquaintance course?

Secondly whilst at Raleigh (or possibly Collingrad) do they do the same basic as all the other branches eg ceremonial, weapon handling, etc.

A lot has changed since I left in 1990!

As far as I'm aware (just started the recruitment process myself) Everyone has to do Phase 1, as they have to know how to be as they call it a sailor first and basics of the Navy.

also the 4 day course is not taking part atm I believe cos of COVID, so I think they do something on zoom regarding fitness and you have to send a snap of your 2.4k run from your phone too I believe.

maybe one of the Vets on this forum can help more.

He's a failed OM, the Woo's wouldn't have him so he ended up in limbo as an AC ;)
