Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. I have my Medical this Thrusday(17th).
The problem is that i hurt my ankle whilst out on my jog.(Fell down a kerb)
I was just wondering if this would cause a problem in my medical.
I can walk and light jog on it. It just feels like something needs clicking(It doesnt need to though)
It isnt swollen, weird shape, bruised or anything. it just hurts a little.

Should i tell them about it or not?

It will most likely be ok by then.(Hopefully)

I dont really want to be waiting around for a year+ because i fell down a kerb. :(

PS- The run i hurt my ankle in happens to be my PB of 18mins.(I run 2.8miles)
So maybe that has something to do with it.

  2. Doesn't sound like anything too serious. Get some ibuprofen into you (400mg three times a day) and put some ice on it for 20 mins every few hours. If you haven't got a major limp then it should be fine by Thursday.

  3. You'll be asked to do some stretches in your underwear (at least, I was), simple stuff like touching your toes so, as long as you don't grimace and do the movement smoothly I can't see them picking up on it.

    Really?

What were you asked to stretch in your underwear?

  5. Nicely noticed. I meant, doing stretches whilst wearing only underwear. I assume this was to check for joint problems.

  6. Ye. Stretching is no problem. Im pumping the ibuprofen into my body. :) Should be fine. :?

  7. touch your toes ??

...and why does he need to put both hands on your shoulders when he checks your rectal temperature?!

  9. I'm not looking forward to the medical.

Its not so painful if the Doc's got small fingers and removes his wristwatch

  11. Its not that bad. Im lucky, i had a women doc. If you have a man, they seem to do extras, like bend over and open up your bum cheeks, to check a few things. Its not that bad really.

  12. A few things? Really! Exactly how many things have you got where there ought to be only one winking at you?

  13. LMAO, thats what its like guys.

    Eeeew.

To think our Doctor does this every weekday, too.

To be honest we're getting a bit fed-up with it in the office, as he only actually does medicals on Tuesdays & Thursdays.

So you'd let a female digitally penetrate your anus, but not a male?

You're gonna hate Channel Night, then... 8O

  18. Well, i never said i would not let a male. I just said the doc was female.
