Medical

I'm in the process of joining the Royal Navy and will have my medical eventually but I'm concerned about my medical history. Around 3 yrs ago I visited my GP as I was depressed that a lot of things in life weren't going how I wanted them too, I just wanted to speak to a professional but ended up being prescribed antidepressants. I didn't take any and never went back for more, would this affect me joining? I've learnt now that life has its ups and downs and anything bad that happens to me no longer affects me in any negative way anymore but I'm very concerned about it affecting my application. Thanks in advance!

Thank you for the quick reply, I've had a read through of a few posts and I believe I should be ok! Still a little worried but feeling much better now, I'm going to have a chat with my recruiter on Wednesday.

Something which may happen is that the Navy might seek more information from someone like your GP just to confirm that everything is OK now. If this happens, you just need to be patient; sometimes it takes a few weeks for the correspondence to go backwards and forwards.

Good Luck!

Thank you, this has really made me feel better now, I was panicking quite a bit about it but my GP does know that I never took any of the meds and I never asked for anymore so hopefully this won't be an issue! Thank you!
