  1. Hi all,

just would like to ask about a few medical conditions as i'm thinking of applying to the RFA next year. I dont believe i actually have it anymore but i did have asthma many years ago but never had any problems with it. I also do have hay fever and eczema would these bar me from applying to the RFA? as i know eczema and possibly hayfever bars you from the navy.

Any help would be much appreciated cheers.

Best bet? Call RFA in Portsmouth & ask to speak to their Occupational Health specialist: 02392 725243
  3. Ninja is bang on with his advice to speak to occupational health direct. I can add that the standards for entry to the RFA are nothing like those for the RN. For the RFA you'll need an unrestricted ENG1, the guidelines for which are freely available on the internet. For instance, you can have asthma and join the RFA. This is the case for many medical conditions. Occupational health can advise you further.
  4. Thanks very much. Will give them a ring tomorrow, ive looked at the eng1 guidelines and from what i can see I should be fine. But will confirm this when i give them a ring.
  5. Good luck with your application, let us know how it goes.
