At the current moment in time I am extremely bad at anything to do with mechanical reasoning. I've done some tests and found it difficult and I'm wondering what is the best way to go about revising for the mechanical comprehension test for a newbie at anything mechanical related?

Would doing practice tests and doing awful on them and then checking the answers and going through them again be the best route to take?

Maybe it would be best to learn the basics and work my way up to the standard required but what are the names of the general topics that the mechanical comprehension test is based on?

    Thank you very much.
