May Navy News free

Great job, I like reading the Navy News, I subscribe, get it in our mess good to see the RNR got a mention this month. I suspect my only criticism is it apparently non-critical reporting of news and developments. It makes it a appear like propaganda and fools no one. I don't want you to turn into the "Independant" or Channel 4 either.

Good job on the web version though.

Hi Asst Ed,

Link doesn't seem to work for me. I'm going through an IGS account from Nelson, but I assume I should still be able to get access?

Thanks for the heads up, Tattoo Dog. We're on non-MOD servers at NN so it's not a problem. Alternatively, you could pop in our offices and pick up a freebie if u ask nicely :D

There were some problems with viewing from an MOD server which I thought we'd sorted out. Evidently not. Leave it with us. We'll have to have a word with the IT security people and hopefully unblock the gateway.

The whole idea of the e-edition was allowing ships at sea to log in rather than wait weeks for the copies to arrive...

Sadly, at £1,500 a pop it's not really an option; the only thing we do have is the data disc (papers on CD Rom) from the mid-90s to the present day, but it's one you will have to buy I'm afraid as the production costs are quite high.

I am indeed. I'm just waiting for Norman and Levers Aligned to start putting the boot in. :D
I have no problems with your efforts to e-publish NN ... it's a great idea. My beef is with content, as you are aware of. No boots-in from me regarding your efforts to reach a wider audience and using modern techniques.

I'll put my tin helmet on now and prepare for another beasting like the last time... 8O
But who the hell in their right mind would pay for it?
It's sad and fawning. Avoids any criticism of 1 and 2 SL's. Never questions why we need 2 with so few operational ships. Never mentioned the sad Commodore who killed himself in Gibraltar
having been discovered in possession of child pornography. Is this of no interest to the Fleet?
