Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. does any one have a copy of the email that was sent last month with referance to the qualification time for the OSM Herrick(or was it Telic??)

I seem to have permanentlty deleted it before I got the chance to read it.

  2. I believe the RAF got it amended so that an accumulation of days also qualifies. This was primarily to allow aeromeds to have their valuable contributions recognised iirc.
  3. It has changed. Something about service can now accumulate, to 45 days worth. As I say, never got the chance to read it properly before I consigned it to the deleted bin........
  4. Here you go big lad:

"Following a recent review by the Chiefs of Staff, it has now been approved by Her Majesty The Queen that members of the Armed Forces and Civil Servants will no longer have to serve for 30 continuous days in order to qualify for the Afghanistan Operational Service Medal and/or the Iraq Medal. Under the new plans personnel deploying will be able to build up accrued days to achieve a total qualifying period of 45 days service. Further details and how to apply can be found in DIB 2010/09"
  5. cheers SG
