Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Can anyone beat this ?
I have a Seiko 100 sports watch which has been ticking for 29yrs on the same original battery and keeping near perfect time.

  2. How has this ended up in the joke thread ?

  3. And the punchline is ...............?

  4. It's solar powered unless the battery defies all known laws of physics and chemistry.

Oh yeah, so that's what 'kinetic' means: "29 Year battery life"

    Yep, I can beat that.

The battery/ignition device on something 20 odd years ago was so **** it went pop instead of bang and I'm still going strong drinking beer and living the dream because of it. :)

  7. No it's not a kinetic watch and yes it is hard to believe it is still going strong after all these years.
Also not solar as it's been in a drawer for 10 yrs.

  8. Hei Johne

Probably been kept warm in the drawer and free for dampness, just a theory, hope lifes doing you good, i am on my way to sarf Africa for the holidays, take care and a merry chrimbo.

Ps pls excuse my spelling, been far too long away from the UK,

  9. That's unsurprising....How could the battery wear down if no one was looking at it???
