"Lt Cdr Liz Church, one of our most experienced submarine operations reservists, is celebrating 40 years’ service. 2019 marked this career milestone on-board HMS Queen Elizabeth, where Lt Cdr Church worked as part of the submarine advisory team, providing support and guidance to the carrier strike group commander during the ship’s deployment to Canada and the United States.

“To be able to travel overseas with HMS Queen Elizabeth is a real privilege! The role I am doing on the aircraft carrier is something which, during my career, I have done on many different ships, and with many different Navies around the world. The continued opportunities and personal challenges offered by the Reserves are what have made my naval career something I have really enjoyed.”

Cdr Ben Horner, Head of Reserves Submarine Operations says “Lt Cdr Church is an absolutely first class example of an experienced and committed reservist, drawing upon the wealth of her specialist expertise to help deliver Carrier Strike and to keep both HMS Queen Elizabeth, and her supporting submarines, safe and working seamlessly together. There could be no more fitting way for Liz to celebrate this incredible milestone than at sea, aboard the nation’s flagship, doing the job she loves. The submarine operations community will raise a glass in salute to her today.”

Lt Cdr Liz Church added: “I would like to say a big thank you to my family and to my employers over the years who have supported me and made it possible for me to make the most of everything the Royal Naval Reserve has to offer.”"

And she gets to wear her own special badge on her right arm. WTF.
I was wondering what that would be as it looks like tri-service colours, apart from medics I can't think of a branch badge that has colour!!

Difficult to tell from the photo, but it's probably the Carrier Strike Group Staff badge.

I think that you are right, BH.

I've found a slightly better image of the badge (as worn by Mike Utley). It says 'United Kingdom Carrier Strike Group' at the top of the badge.

It's all getting very "American" IMHO.
How do you feel about challenge-coins tradition we seem to be picking up from America? I recently saw CMR now issues them too; her suppercession guard were given them.

They look cool, but doesnt seem defined enough, in terms what you get them for to feel significant yet.

Just more tat that will end up in a drawer somewhere, pointless waste of money but maybe I'm just a miserable old git (who doesn't like wasting money).
