London 2012 Olympic promoters ashamed of HMS Belfast

This subject deserves a new thread:

Having mentioned HMS Belfast in my last post on the PJM medal looks like the organisers for the 2012 Olympic promoters are ashamed of our Royal Navy and wants this WW2 cruiser to be obliterated from history.

Two points:

1. Daily Mail, so it doesn't count.

2. Every Remembrance Day, there is always a media feeding frenzy about outrageous events such as burning poppies, poppy wearers being snubbed, the fake provenance of those claiming to be ex-service/current service people & other dross.

Whilst the RBL will appreciate the heightened publicity to boost funds, as already eloquently indicated elsewhere, a dignified silence can often speak more than shouting at a computer screen, television or newspaper
