Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

    I don't get this bit:

"Under the contract, Lockheed Martin will produce 10 F-35A conventional takeoff and landing (CTOL) variants for the U.S. Air Force, 16 F-35B short takeoff/vertical landing variants for the U.S. Marine Corps, four F-35C carrier variants for the U.S. Navy and one F-35B for the United Kingdom. Additionally, the Netherlands has the option to procure one F-35A".

I thought we had switched to the F-35C?

Already contracted/payed for (and built?) whether we want it or not? :?
  3. As Topstop suggests, we've already contracted for 3 x Operational Test and Evaluation F-35Bs.

I hope we keep the receipt so that we can send it back when it doesn't work.
  6. One for scouse this. A bit geeky but the P.1216 was a 1980's design for a supersonic Harrier replacement. Thought you'd like it 'cos it's got a twin-boom tail like a Sea Vixen

Would have been a great RN/RAF asset
