Thanks all for the comments. I have found out through the number that Jimbo pm'd me that NPFS have a duty solicitor who gives first up interviews free of charge. SPB, it is wrt the incident I previously asked your advice on; things have moved on.

  4. I'm pretty sure that all solicitors give the first call free of charge

  5. Check your car/household insurance mate as most times they have free legal advise built into the policy, good luck
  6. Not strictly. Some have a nominal charge, (£5-10), well below their normal fleecing levels!!!
  7. My one and only involvement with em, they were billing at £500 an hour, and thats out here in the sticks
  8. Citizens Advice always used to have access to legal advice but not sure if they do anymore. If you are a member of the AA they do have a legal section which I have used in the past to get legal advice (albeit recovery of non insured losses) however a lot of these will be geared around claims re car/house etc.

    Does the Legion do anything???
  9. British Legion? - Don't know

Foreign Legion? Probably terminates the problem!

  11. Depends what the problem is, there's a list down the left hand side.

Can we help? Welfare for the serving and ex-Service community - The Royal British Legion.

No that's all very much welfare related on the RBL page, I need civil dispute legal advice. Hopefully the NPFS chap will sort the issue.
  13. NPFS legal service/advice is very basic and is offered to the same standard by many solicitors free of charge. Often capped at 30 min session.

  14. It's good as a starting point but may require financial investment for more complex cases.

  15. I reckon your best bet is the CAB, give then a ring and you will get a gateway interview. It lasts about 10 minutes and from this they can decide on the next step. A 1 hour session with a qualified advisor or some other option. Numbers are in the book and online.

Problem with the CAB is they're not that fast. I need action quickly.

TO: My advise from PMs still stands. The legal process is often the best - but not the quickest - solution. Don't make any rash decisions but if you do, make sure you don't get caught... Good luck and message me if you need further help. Good luck! :thumbleft:

just had the chat with the NPFS guy. A bit disappointed to be honest. A nice enough chap and very sympathetic, but it all boiled down to he didn't know enough about the subject and I need a specialist solicitor, try my house insurance for legal cover (which I do have). I'm now waiting for them to call me back.
