They have expiry dates now - which should be the expiry of any security clearances. If yours does have one I’m sure it will be out of date, and if it doesn’t it shouldn’t be accepted at any gate.

They’re also no longer blue. If it looks like one of these, it’s an old on. The new ones are blue and green with a brown mod logo and are tri-service. IMG_7882.jpeg

Well old style then, top one, but mine dosen't have an expiry date so should be OK for Yank discount if I ever cross the pond again.
Yeah I joined in ‘05 with the top one with expiration date on. The newer cards don’t have the magnetic strip on the back (don’t think they were ever used anyway) and the new ones have RFID (no idea as it’s still not used).

I left in 98 and lost/mislaid it some years earlier, just after they stopped fines against a days pay rate, replacing it with a fixed rate fee?

I got a Valedictory Certificate when I left after 24 years in 2007. Handed over by a Commander in the TTF Faslane. On the ID card front, I knew a Master at Arms quite well and he missed with the scissors. The card came in handy for discounts when we went on holiday to the States.

Still waiting for an invite from pusser to apply for the vets id card.
Had a go at getting a vets ID card yesterday after someone posted a link on FB but no joy, it's not up and running yet, either that or I'm a walt

Was £25 I heard when I joined, but that was many years ago, I know you will face a punishment for losing it still though.
Prior to that the skipper could find you multiples of a days pay, especially if a repeat offender, hence a Warrant would have paid a lot more than a junior for the same offence.

The computer said No, it didn't recognise your service.
Recognised my service but was unable to verify my identity, that part of the site isn't working but will need proof of address, and photo id, either barometric passport or driving licence. It's a new site called Gov.UK One Login. If you have Government Gateway account and password it won't work, you need to create a new account. According to the site Gov.UK One Login will eventually replace Gateway.
