Labour's largesse

WITH a general election looming Labour’s Shadow Foreign Secretary
Emily Thornberry has promised
£50,000 for each surviving nuclear
veteran. Great stuff!
But a word of caution: Neil Kinnock,
former Labour Leader back in the
80s, was also voluble in his support
for Britain’s nuclear veterans, and
constantly tub-thumped on their behalf.
On being asked by the BNTVA to
commit to helping the veterans, he
solemnly pledged: “I can unhesitatingly give the commitment that the
next Labour government, as a matter
of urgency and priority, will set up a
full judicial inquiry.”
When Labour finally achieved power
under Tony Blair they did precisely
nothing.
Nothing says more about the veniality of politicians, especially around
election time than that.

Here we go again!

Politician's promises are not worth the arse paper they're written on. Never was that statement more true than the present time.

Also, those that are still around are very late 70s early 80s and older.

I'd imagine every week the potential payout to the Treasury drops a few quid.

Miss Thornberry s time and energy is better spent as it is now ,keeping the fact that her name is actually Lady Emily Nugee from her Labour supporter admirers. The few remaining Nuclear Test survivors are, as Sonar Bender says knocking on a bit. Any money available should be left in trust for those genetic abnormalities found in their grandchildren and great-grandchildren ad infinitum

I once snogged Kinnock's daughter, Rachael, at a disco in Ealing back in the 80's. I also squeezed her arse, which was nice and firm.

Your hand is clearly bigger than your memory as her name is Rachel.

Please, please accept my sincere apologies for spelling her name wrong. I didn't mean to offend and if that was indeed the case, i am very sorry.

Her brother Steven was a nice bloke by the way.
