  2. Ahem, specialist reading material, it helped me get through (when I had the energy!).
  3. I'd never realised the Manual of Seamanship was so popular!
  4. I don't remember having time for any of that, nor did you
  5. I believe that he was refeering to the "Manual os Semenship" Steve
  6. ohh for world class Psychiatrist !!!!!!!!! "kryten RD"
the times haven't changed have they lads.... please don't beat about the bush on expence!

  7. Some carrier bags to stow perfectly ironed shirts and trousers that you never wear and only present for kit inspections.

Couple of decent towels 'cos the NAAFI towels are expensive and dead fluffy for the first few washes and the fluff goes everywhere.

Cotton wool balls for bulling your shoes and boots. Kiwi black Parade Gloss polish is a good recommendation.

A hotmail/yahoo type email account and your mobile phone's charger!
  8. I hear a torch is useful. I am taking a bar of Vanish and bottle of starch spray.
  9. Dont you remember Thrush calling me PK?
  10. Try to get some large (larger than A4 size) re-sealable bags for your kit

Forget the cotton wool, get a silvet polishig cloth from the NAFFI they work a treat, and normal KIWI Black polish is just as good, plus an old toothbrush for the welts

a small scrubbing brush for your shirt collers and cap top
  11. DONT use KLEAR on ur parade boots - no no NOOOOOOOOOOOO
  12. Personally I used KIWI boot polish.

Pedantic I know but I am waiting for the clock to tick round.....
  13. Tick Tick Tick
  14. What, take a watch?
  15. Are recruits allowed watches these days then?
  16. Yes, killick and two!
